A Hand Up Ministries
People over profit. Always.
A Hand Up began with a simple conviction: dignity grows when people are given a chance to work, contribute, and be seen. We walk alongside our neighbors until they’re back on solid ground — because we care.
The front door
A store that opens doors.
Our thrift store is where the mission starts. Every donated item finds a second life, every affordable price tag stretches a tight budget, and every shift behind the counter becomes real, résumé-building work for someone who needs it.
The proceeds don’t go to shareholders. They go back into the ministry — funding the farm, keeping the lights on, and creating the next opportunity for a neighbor ready to take it.

What we’re built on
The C.A.R.E. that holds it together
These four values aren’t a poster on the wall — they’re how we make every decision, from the sales floor to the soil.
We move forward together — neighbors, volunteers, and partner agencies pulling toward the same goal.
We help people see their own worth and purpose, and we stay tuned to what our community actually needs.
We empower people to take real ownership of the next chapter of their story — that's the heart of a hand up.
We do the work well, because honoring God and honoring people both deserve our very best.
“We do this work to honor God by honoring people — meeting our neighbors right where they are, and refusing to leave them there.”
